FAQ

Can I register for this educational program before or after taking some or all of the courses included in the completion requirements?

Yes, as long as you are enrolled in a undergraduate program.

Is it possible to take and complete the advanced literacy level only after completing the literacy level?

The educational programs for the literacy level and advanced literacy level are separate (the same applies to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "Mathematics, Data Science and AI Smart Higher Education (MDASH) Programs Certification System"), so each can be taken independently.

However, keep in mind that some of the study content at the advanced literacy level is based on the study content at the literacy level.

"Basics and Applications of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence I/II" are courses offered by the School of Computing (200 level). Can I take it if I belong to another school?

These courses are open to the whole university, so you can take them regardless of which school you belong to.

I'm a transfer student in a undergraduate program and have received credits for the courses required for completion. Can I receive a Literacy Level Certificate of Completion?

If the four courses required for completion have been certified as credits, you will be certified as having completed it. However, please note that students who transferred to the bachelor's course in 2021 will be required to attend supplementary lessons and submit a report to pass the courses.

How will the Certificate of Completion be issued?

It is currently being arranged. The university will inform you on this website as soon as it is decided.

2021 New Undergraduate Students

The literacy level completion requirements are complex, and I don’t understand them well.

Due to various circumstances, the university will not be able to offer the new Basic science and technology courses (Computing and information science) "Basics of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence" in the 2021 academic year. There is a special measure created due to not being able to cover study items at the literacy level, except for some classes in "Information Literacy II".

To complete the literacy level, in addition to obtaining 4 credits from the 4 required courses, the following conditions must be met.

  • Take Information Literacy II in Class 1a (IL2) or 4b (IL2) in the 2021 academic year
  • In addition to the above, take Information Literacy II and attend supplementary lessons and submit reports in the 2022 academic year

Supplementary lessons are scheduled for the 3rd quarter of 2022. Details will eventually be posted on this website.

Is it necessary to report to the web services for students and faculty to attend supplementary lessons?

This is not an ordinary course, so it is not necessary. No new credits will be given either.

Are there any plans to hold supplementary lessons after the 4th quarter of 2022?

There are not. Be sure to take supplementary lessons in the 3rd quarter of 2022.
